Join Me in Celebrating the Art of Card Making
These days, when you find that something different tucked in between the stacks of bills and junk mail, and it turns out to be a card, it brings a smile to your face, but when it turns out someone has taken the time to give you a handmade card, it brightens your whole day!
World Card Making Day is in celebration of that feeling, a holiday to celebrate the creativity and personal connection of handmade cards. WCMD, officially October 2, Stampin' Up! Demonstrators, like myself, will hold various stamping events in September and October.
Please join me on October 1st for ‘Try-it-out & Hang out’, a drop-in event from 6:30-9:30 pm where for $5 you can participate in 2 card making projects and have access to try out various Stampin’ Up! products. In honour of the Cancer Fundraisers that weekend, my Passion for Pink theme will include a Cancer awareness themed card and I will donate $1 from every $5 workshop fee to the Run for a Cure.
Never made a card? No problem! As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I am happy to show you the ropes of this immensely fulfilling hobby and maybe even create a passion for the art of card making!
Some tools I will have available to try are:
~ The Big Shot (embossing and die cutting machine)
~ Crimper
~ Wheel stamping
~ Heat Gun
~ Punches, and more!
For more details or to register for my event, contact me at laboroflovelylori@live.ca or RSVP to my event on my Demonstrator Page, or as a Facebook fan .

Stampin’ Up! Card Club Coming to Steinbach! Seats still open!
LADIES NIGHT OUT!!
Enjoy an evening of creating, refreshments and the company of some fellow crafters!
Who: Up to 10 Ladies who like being creative. Newbie’s welcome, no experience necessary.
What: Making 3-4 paper projects monthly or bi-monthly (using stamps, ink, paper, embellishments, etc.), incorporating interesting and fun techniques that you can take home and use. See my gallery link to see some samples of card techniques.
When: A week night, which day of each month is yet to be determined (will be based on input from those interested).
Cost: This is a drop in Card Club, anyone can join for a night for the cost of $10, with no obligation to make an order, or they can make a minimum product order of $35 and the $10 fee is waived.
I will consider making this a Club with membership, where members will receive hostess benefits, this will need a minimum of 6 ladies interested in the commitment. The difference would be the cost is a minimum product order of $30 each Card Club night for the duration, and the project supplies are at NO COST. There would also be extra hostess benefits to members.
Benefits: In addition to crafts, community, and chow, if collective sales from each Card Club night reach the hostess rewards minimum ($200) I will draw names from all participants who made a purchase (above the $10 supply fee) and they will get a free hostess set and 10% off their order.
For Card Club membership, every member has a Card Club night that they are the designated hostess, with that you get a minimum $20 of product and a FREE stamp set/hostess rewards.
How long: The Card Club usually runs from fall through to Spring. Participants who drop in can attend with no commitment, however since only 10 seats are available there may not always be room, please contact me as soon as you know which month(s) you are interested in attending. For Card Club membership, duration is a minimum of 6 months or number of months per member (i.e. 7 members=7 months), whichever is greater.
Where: Steinbach (location will be specified once the Card Club night officially begins)
What are the responsibilities of being a hostess: If as a member, it is your night to be hostess, simply provide a snack for the participants, how simple or elaborate the refreshments are is up to you. Any nights with no designated hostess, snacks will be provided by me.
If you are interested in more information, please contact me. Hope to see you there!
